Weekend Worries

Weekend of Woes
Last weekend saw the NRL have a severe crack-down on the objective of a spear tackles with a total of six NRL players being charged for a total of 22 matches. NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley has set the standards stating “Surely players must by now be getting the message that they can’t lift and up-end players so that they fall to the ground head first”, going onto “The potential for this type of tackle to go wrong is extremely high”, which I must say is totally correct. For Roosters interchange Lopini Paea, a 10 week early sideline plea for his grade five dangerous throw of Melbourne’s Ben Cross on the weekend is perhaps a disappointing way to face the majority of the season. Such a weekend of worries puts a damper on the games played this week.
