Finally, a show of seniority amongst rugby officials!
Yesterday, after long talks between ARU and NRL Mark Gasnier has been declined of a substantial amount of money offered by the ARU. Gasnier, a current NRL player has been the intermediary between negotiations between the two codes as the cost of his pay packet ended up weighing him down.
The joke previously held on the two codes of NRL and ARU has now turned to Gasnier as his pending contract with the ARU has been declined after several extensions of deadlines by both parties.
Clearly the love of the game has been put aside whilst Gasnier concentrated on gaining onto his already large pay packet.
To the Australian Rugby Union, congratulations, you've managed to turn the joke on you, to the joke on a player of NOW a rivalry sport.
